You invited Jesus Christ to come
into your heart as your Savior, right?
So He is here in you, and me, to be one with Him, as His family, as His
church who is also His body to function through.
Ephesians 1:22-23
And hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness
of him that filleth all in all.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17
6 The cup of blessing which we
bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we
break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one
bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1 Corinthians 12:27
Now ye are the body of Christ,
and members in particular.
Without Christ Jesus, the Spirit
of the Son, in us and working in and through us…. Without Him we can do
nothing. So the only way for us to be
that blessing to another, is if Christ Jesus is working through us, and the
Father is speaking through us, doing the work.
John 15:4-5
Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more
can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the
branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
So since Christ abides in us, and
we abide in Him, then we can ask the Father anything, according to His will,
and it will be done for us. The Father
is glorified in the Son through us too. He is the Vine and we are His branches.
John 16:23-24
And in that day ye shall ask me
nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in
my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing
in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
John 14:13-14
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my
name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in
my name, I will do it.
1 John 3:18-24
My little children, let us not
love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are
of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemn us,
God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn
us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we
receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are
pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment,
That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one
another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his
commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he
abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
So knowing that we are become one
with the Son of God, Jesus Christ, we are also become one with the Father. In John 14:19-24 Jesus tells us that He will
manifest himself to us, and that if we would love Him then we will keep His
words, and the Father and Him will make their abode with you.
John 14:19-23
Yet a little while, and the
world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall
live also.
20 At that day ye shall know
that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments,
and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved
of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not
Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto
the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto
him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love
him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
And in this same passage of
scripture, look at the conversation that Jesus has with Philip and other
disciples.
John 14:9-18
Have I been so long time with
you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen
the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am
in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak
not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the
Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
So Jesus expresses strongly to
Philip that the Father is the one in Him, that Spirit that is holy and is doing
the work through Him. Then Jesus begins
to reveal to them how they will be doing greater works than these because the
Father and the Son will come in the fullness of salvation, in the completeness
of salvation in them and will be ONE in the fullness of God, doing God’s will
towards all.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto
you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and
greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in
my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in
my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my
commandments.
16 And I will pray the
Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you
for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but
ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Note: Who is that Spirit of truth that dwelleth
with them and they know? Jesus is telling them that the Spirit of Truth, whom
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, is dwelling with them, but was going to
dwell in them, so that they would not be left alone, but He And the Father
would make their abode in them. So He
tells them next……
V18 I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you.
Why didn’t Jesus say the Holy
Spirit will come to them? Instead He says
that He will not leave them comfortless because the Spirit of Truth, who He is
also, will come to them.
Thus, the Father and Word and
Holy Ghost are One. Jesus was coming
back in Spirit, and we would be His body.
The Holy Spirit sealed us, and is
the first manifestation of our new life… the earnest of the inheritance
received. So He causes us to grow up in
Him and produce more of His life.
Now, we are not alone nor
comfortless… for the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost is come and made their
abode in us.
Now by the Holy Ghost we are
brought into the Father’s presence through the knowledge of the Son Jesus, God’s
Eternal Lamb who alone is worthy!
We are not alone, but in good God
Company.
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world.
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing
we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay
aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run
with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith;….
Hebrews 12:21-29 *21-24
But ye are come unto mount
Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and
to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and
church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of
all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of
the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things
than that of Abel.
So because Christ Jesus is now
come in our hearts, and has brought and is bringing us into the Father, then as
Jesus said in John 15:7-8 we can receive of His goodness and blessings, for He
and the Father are here to administer the “finished work” in us and through us
to others.
John 15:7-8
If ye abide in me, and my words
abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified,
that ye bear much fruit: so shall ye be my disciples.
Amen.
