Eating of His Body: Forgiven and Free

Eating of the Body of Jesus and drinking of His Blood… This is what you are doing when you are fellowshipping in Christ Jesus with each other or by yourself unto the Lord.  You are agreeing with the Lamb of God and partaking of the Lamb sacrifice.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

He is God’s sacrifice for the remission and removal of sin from all souls who will believe in Him who is the only begotten Son of God Jesus Christ.  God’s Word made flesh.  Through His Blood we receive Atonement for sin.  Jesus Christ, whose flesh body was sacrificed for Full payment of sin (which is death) is the bread of life that came down from heaven.

The Lamb of God is Jesus Christ in the flesh.  So God’s Word was made flesh and dwelled among them.  This flesh body is Jesus Christ as a man, yet being the Godhead in body form.

Colossians 2:9-12 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

God gave His Word a body which would be the Lamb sacrifice given for the remission of sin.  Through Jesus the Lamb of God we can have forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life and live eternally with Jesus (see verse 56).

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 6:53-58  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

v54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

v55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

v56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

v57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

v58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

1 Corinthians 10:16-17 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

So, eating of the bread of life is what you are doing when you agree with, and fellowship with,  and partake of God’s Word that is Spirit and Life, and it is this Word that was made flesh (John 1:14), walked in the earth yet dwelling in heaven (John 3:13), and after He took the punishment of sin by taking on multiple strips upon His body and then hung on the cross while every and all sin of the world was put upon Him, then He yielded up His spirit to God.

It is this Word that is God the Father’s Testimony, His Witness, His Record written in your innerman, declaring Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:9-12 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

So whenever you do eat and drink of the Lord, do it respectfully, honoring Him.  For some that have partaken His body and blood disrespectful have brought problems on themselves.

Read here in 1 Corinthians 11:22-34:
1 Corinthians 11:22-34
What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation.

If you have done this disrespectfully, then repent, apologize to the Lord quickly and ask Him to show you the better way to participate in this remembrance of Him.

His body took on the stripes due to us for sin.  That’s why you can be healed as well as forgiven and freed from sin. But in Christ Jesus who is risen from the dead, we can rise out of sickness and infirmities, and even Walk in His Health and Cure.  Jesus paid for you to be FREE from sin not just forgiven.

His blood declares His Righteousness for us, so we may stand in the presence of God our Father without fear, and in assurance of His love and acceptance…and much more good will toward us.  Through His body and blood we are sanctified, justified, redeemed and reconciled back to the Father.

Eating of His body and Drinking of His blood…..  Thank you Lord Jesus for Forgiveness and Freedom from sin and death.

Amen.
